1. Candidate should have supervised clinical experience as part of their education and training. This typically involves completing a specified number of supervised clinical hours, working with clients across different age groups and disorders.
2. Additional training or certifications in specific areas, such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or specialized therapy approaches (e.g., PROMPT, LSVT), can enhance a speech therapist’s skill set and expertise.
3. Clinical settings: Experience working in various clinical settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, or private practice, is valuable. This allows speech therapists to gain exposure to diverse client populations and work collaboratively with different professionals. Preference for candidates that has worked with Autism Centers.
4. Proficiency in South Indian languages desired.
5. Candidates should be adaptable and creative in tailoring therapy approaches to meet the individual needs of clients. They should be able to modify treatment strategies based on clients’ progress, learning styles, and preferences.
6. Display skills to work in large teams, ability to master collaboration with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals is important. Speech therapists should be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing input and coordinating treatment plans to ensure holistic care for clients.
Minimum Educational Qualification : A UG or PG degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders.
