Degree Programs

The ACA Seminary is equipped to offer two degree programs:

  • The 3 year Master of Theology Degree (M.Th.)
  • the 2 year Master in Biblical Studies (M.B.S.)

Women may be admitted to the Seminary as M.B.S. students.  ETS also encourages students to enroll for selected courses which may not lead to a degree,  Admission to selected courses are decided by the Academic Committee.

Purpose

To prepare men for a ministry of Bible exposition as pastors, teachers and leaders in other areas of ministry requiring the ability to expound the Scriptures.

If a student plans to earn the M.Th. degree, it is not to his advantage to pursue the M.B.S. first.  Instead, he should directly enroll in the M.Th. program.  A student who has completed the M.B.S. degree in this seminary will not be given to the M.Th.

Graduation Requirements

3 year M.Th.

In order to be graduated, the following requirements should be met:

  • the student must have completed 120 credit hours with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 or B-.
  • He must have submitted a satisfactory thesis/research work
  • He must have met the field education requirements, thereby evidencing ability and acceptable Christian ministry
  • The completion of the minimum requirements does not, however, automatically qualify the student for the degree.  He must have evidenced to the satisfaction of the faculty solidarity of Christian character, ability and acceptability in Christian ministry and commitment to the purpose of the Seminary.
  • An oral and written comprehensive examination in all major departments is required as a condition for graduation.  The student will be examined by a panel of professors from various departments and an average grade of B- is required for graduation.
  • The degree will not be conferred unless all financial obligations to the Seminary have been met.

M.B.S

The same requirements are applicable for M.B.S. students except for the following:

  • 70 credit hours are required for the M.B.S. degree program.
  • They are exempted from presenting a thesis.
  • Greek and Hebrew language courses are excluded from the curriculum for this degree program.
  • The duration for this course is 2 years of residential study.
